Flower Garden in Progress!

Ok, so most of you know that I have been working on my take of paper flowers, well today I tried the Tim Holtz Grunge Paper Flower.  I will have to say that I like working better with cardstock to shape the flowers better, but I'm not giving up on the grunge paper flowers.  I will have to work on them just a bit more.  Practice makes perfect and I like things to look as close to perfect as possible.

This is the Stampin Up Die Bigz L Fun Flower Die and I embossed it with the Manhattan Flower Folder. On this one I used Cardstock and distressed the flower using Vintage Photo by Tim Holtz.

This is my Tim Holtz Grunge Paper take on the flower, I used the Stampin Up Bigz L Fun Flower Die, I stamped it using our A to Z stamp, and I used Tim Holtz Distress ink along with Smooch Spitz Cosmic Pink!
These flowers were made using cardstock and Stampin Up Island Floral Die (Retired)

I hope you enjoy the ride and continue coming as I perfect my flowers.  These will absolutely look beautfiul on a scrapbook page or a vintage frame, or travel box!  The sky is the limit with these gorgeous flowers!

Best Things in Life are MADE!

Here's a Sew Suite card that just about anyone that loves to be creative with their hands will absolutley love. It's Chic and Fabulous, but not only that it was handmade! The Stamp Set is one that I recently got from our Mini Occasions Catalog....Sew Suite and the sentiment is from one of our Stampin Up! Catalog Tote-ally Tess (#118595). Now you can't get any fashionable then this run way Sew Suite Set (#122009).

Now I couldn't stop just with the stamp set, I had to throw some of my handmade flowers using the Fancy Flower Petal Punch and Cherry Cobbler Cardsock. To accent this models dress I threw in some pearls, because some girls love diamonds and others can't get enough of pearls.

Flower Punch Tutorial

Hey Gals, here is the tutorial on how to make the fabulous flowers that I have used in my last two projects. I am new to the video world, so please bare with me as I iron out the wrinkles. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy doing what I do! Here's the You Tube link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71WvlovaVJM&feature=player_embedded

Fabulous Flowers Bleach Technique

I decided that today was a great day to bleach, so I took out the Melon Mambo Textured Cardstock and went to town on the bleaching technique using the new Summer Mini Catalog Fabulous Florets (#123027). To do this technique I took two pieces of paper towel placed it on top of a syrofoam plate and poured a bit of Clorox Bleach. The paper towel soaked up the bleach and I stamped directly onto the paper towel. Then I stamped the image straight onto the Melon Mambo cardstock. It takes a few minutes to see the final color, but once you do it will be a WOW factor.
I then took my extra large scallop circle punch and punched out 4 whisper white and 4 of the designer series paper pink polka dots paper. With the melon mambo inkpad I daubed the edges and then crinkled the punched out scalloped circles. Make sure you wet the cardstock to get the crinkled affect otherwise it will be very hard to crinkle. Once I let my scallop circles dry I pierced a hole added brad and transformed a scalloped circle punch into a beautiful FABULOUS FLOWER!
I used a couple techniques on this card such as:
  • bleach technique
  • emblossing using both dry and powder
  • Ink daubing
  • punch art
My camara didn't give this card justice, because the bold colors for the Melon Mambo cardstock and Regal Rose didn't stand out.

Strength & Hope

Ok, so I thought I would tease you a bit more tonight by using another stamp set from our Summer Mini Catalog, which will be available to customer to purchase starting May 1st. So, be the first to order! Anyway, I followed an awesome layout created by Mojo Monday, and the finished product looks amazing. I used the Strength & Hope (#123660) Stamp Set and the Baker's Twine Early Espresso (#123124). The designer paper is also from the Summer Mini Catalog along with the ribbon. Be sure to stop by Mojo Monday's blogspot to see what they have to offer. So, here is the finished product: Now let's take a good look at the pretty flower that I created. Believe it or NOT it's made out of the same designer paper Paisley Petals (#122367) that I used throughout the card. To make the flower I used the following:
  • the Fancy Flower Extra Large Punch (#118073)
  • Paisley Petals Designer Paper or you can use carstock
  • Brad
  • Paper Piercing Tool
  • Water spray bottle
  • Dimentionals to adhere to project

I will be posting a tutorial on how to actually make the flower, it's very easy, FUN, and great way to make your very own flowers for embellishing and finishing any project.

So, stop by tomorrow to see the tutorial on how to create your very own Fancy Flower! Hasta la vista.....ENJOY! Oh, and PS, you will need a sewing machine for this project to make a zig zag stitch.
