Mystery Tin Album Part 3

Here it is ladies the final touches to the Mystery Tin & Album Project. 

I am totally loving this project, because I took something that looked new and made it look OLD!  I don't particularly like looking OLD myself if you know what I mean, but I like to make things appear to be OLD. 

So, here is what we started out with:

I used the Stampin Up Tab Punch to make the tabs for the cards that go in the pockets. 

To make the flowers I used Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers Die.   The paper is of course DCWV Tradewinds.  I love this stack.  There is so much you can do with this stack, the sky is the limit and you can't go wrong with DCWV.

So, there it is, I hope you enjoy it as much as I have making it.  I can tell you this much I really burned my fingertips with this project, but it was ALL worth it!

I was hoping my order would have gotten here by now, but the mailman failed me, so I couldn't begin on my next upcoming project :(!  It's all good just as soon as it gets here, guess what I will be doing.....CREATING!!!!!

Reading Journal

So, what do you get when you take a plain composition notebook and turn it into something amazing? There's so much you can do with a composition notebook, but for today it will be a READING Journal! The Rock Springs Library will be having a summer reading program, so what I did was take a plain and simple composition notebook and turned it into something that any reader would love to write about.

Materials:

Punches: Round Corner punch, Scallop Trim Corner, & Scallop Trim Border, Round Tab Punch

Stamps: Tote-ally Tess

Paper: Greenhouse Gala Designer Series, Early Expresso Cardstock, & Pumpkin Pie Cardstock, Whisper White Cardstock (for the girl), Marina Mist (pants of the stamped girl).

Accessories: Rhinestones, Staz On, Crystal Effects, Tombow, Bone File, Composition Notebook, 1/4" Early Express Grosgrain Ribbon, Glue Dots, and Dimensionals

I cut the paper to fit the notebook, but remember the GOLDEN Rule to measure once and measure twice, because the last thing you want is to cut your paper the wrong size. You need a front and a back cover, so be sure to cut two pieces. I covered the spine with the Early Expresso textured cardstock and I cut it 2" that was just the perfect cut for this particular journal.

The tabs, just be sure to use cardstock, because you want it to be sturdy and I used the Tombow for majority of this project, because it holds up better than the double sided adhesive.

My Diva Chic was created using the crystal effects. I stamped the image using the Staz On and then I cut out her pants and a shirt, which was then glued to her stamped image on the whisper white cardstock. So, I basically stamped her three times. Once on marina mist cardstock, then on pumpkin pie cardstock, and on the whisper white. So, you will need your scissor techniques here. I colored her hair using the Early Expresso marker and then applied the crystal effects. Be sure to let this dry for at least 2 hours before you apply it to your journal.

So there you have it a Reading Journal that just about anyone will love!
